As you approach the Crosley Terrace of Great American Ball Park and you enter the main gates you will encounter two mosaic panels measuring 16 feet wide by 10 feet high. These mosaic panels are made of opaque glass tiles and were produced in Ravenna, Italy. The mosaics depict two key eras in Reds history: “The First Nine”, the 1869 Red Stockings who were the first professional baseball team in history with a record of 57 and 0 in their first season and the “Great Eight”, the infamous Big Red Machine that won back-to-back World Series in 1975 and 1976.
